5000, no. 500, possibly.

We’re blessed to have so many good musical acts around the state that it’s not hard to find a concert local to you in a small venue and with a minimal cover charge/entrance fee.

I was walking down the street in Ft. Worth one night on my way to Billy Bobs to see Asleep at The Wheel. I passed a saloon with a sign that said, "Appearing Tonight, Gary P. Nunn". I immediately headed in the door as Gary P. has always been a favorite. I'd pay $150 for that night again . Well worth it.

I agree.

The musicians that are still around that I would have an interest in seeing don't charge 150 bucks. Now if Billy Gibbons and his boys decided to play a small 250 capacity nightclub for 150 bucks, yeah, I'm in.

Stevie Ray Vaughn

Other than that unless it is some special with front row seats, back stage pass and a free CD and t shirt > I am hard pressed to spend that on ANY artist today.

I still remember to getting great seats for under $20 and that is when they are in their PRIME.
{sigh}

I am talking a premier venue now, with great acoustics,
not some side room in a casino.

I saw Billy Gibbons play , on his blues tour at a casino in Iowa , the acoustics were terrible,

the absolute best place to be was 14 feet from the back wall , 130 feet from the stage.

had I paid for the tickets, I'd be asking for my money back.

I'd go see Kelly clarkson, ZZ top, Lyle Lovett and Geo. Strait

On a list ( I found on line) of the top 50 texas performers, 20 of them are indeed dead
