The best of the buskers. Erika Lewis, vocalist (and bass drum ) must have grown up listening to old jazz and blues 78s and she is just a natural. I could listen to her all day. And she looks damn hot sittin' on that bass drum. I love these guys. No stress, no strain. Everyone's a smooth pro, a real joy to listen to.

Bought a couple of their records to download. Great stuff!

If I close my eyes when listening, I see see my self on a sweltering hot/humid summer day , under a Willow tree on a blanket at a park with a band shell,

eating fried chicken, coleslaw and watermelon. A big glass jar of lemonade in the cooler and very old couples swaying together ,almost dancing hand in hand.

The sun has been down for 35 minute's and the crowd is anxious for the first of three patriotic songs to begin, and they know the day is almost done.

Everyone seems content , but it's to dam hot to be rowdy. They are exited but also ready to be home in front of the a.c. and or fan. That's nice music, good job sharing it

I was in New Orleans, first time, in 2017, but I think I'm going back in October for a conference (we'll see). Hotel was right by the French Quarter, and I got to see some fantastic street jazz. My daughter was contemplating Tulane at the time, and I was like "nope."

That's a great ensemble. And that voice...wow. Thank you for opening my eyes to them.

Here they are in their element, down in the Quarter. I know performers complain from time to time about noisy patrons in night clubs. Well, you don't know how good you've got it, because motorcycles and garbage trucks aren't driving through the club, but out here on the street, they have to contend with that and more. Notice, also, that this is being recorded from across the street. Erika's projection is impressive. Baby can really belt it out. Oh, I tell ya, sweetness- in another life, I'd be knockin' on your door.

bendable, this group is a New Orleans jazz street band. The two songs from Hattie Hart, well the original renditions would be- I guess- classed as Memphis Blues.

You can find clips of Tuba Skinny performing Hank Williams' tunes, so, it might be hard to pigeonhole them.

Brings to mind ‘Your feets too big’ by Fats Waller for me.

Thanks, I didn't know M.B. existed. ( It's only April and I learned something new! ) Is this the same kind of jazz or Memphis blues music that you hear when they are doing a buriel march through the streets of Nawlin's ? With some of the people strutting and dancing about .

What I love about NOLA. Used to go every weekend to listen to this kind of stuff. Went to the Jazz fest every year in the early 1980s. Gospel tent was great. Performers from all over the world. Fond memories.

This clip should explain it for you. NOLA is an OLD city and very diverse.Enjoy! You can see how the people mourn their dead. Respectful. Watch the families on the funeral route.

Just in no hurry what so ever about getting to that cemetery.
