This looks good! It’s like Munich, meets Delta Force, meets Last King of Scotland. It’s the true story of the daring successful Israeli assault on a Ugandan airport to free hostages from PLO forces. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

I'll go, and I hope it's much more accurate than "Munich"-liked the acting but disliked the film.

The standard to meet or exceed here is the 1976 "Raid On Entebbe".

Exactly what I was thinking. That was a well done movie about the hijacking and the raid. The original sets a very high quality bar for any other movies about this subject to meet, but it was made in a different era by a different generation. I have my doubts about whether the current crop of Hollyweirdos can keep from making this an overwrought, personal angst filled mess. My gauge is the movie "Dunkirk". I finally got to see it and tried to do so without bias. I still think the people that made the movie did a huge disservice to the hundreds of thousands of men of the British that were not selfish cowards. The kid on the beach and the officer picked up by the small boat do not exemplify the stubborn toughness or the class and sense of duty of the British soldier at all.

Argghhhh! [angry pilot geek] At least they could have found an A-300 without winglets or edited them out. [/angry pilot geek] Looks pretty cool otherwise. ______________________________________________ Aeronautics confers beauty and grandeur, combining art and science for those who devote themselves to it. . . . I do like the use of MOSAD age appropriate silenced Beretta 22 pistols. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

Yes he commanded the mission and I believe was the only or one of the only Israeli soldiers to die. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

***SPOILER*** Yes Yoni was the only Israeli soldier to die on the mission though a hostage was shot when he stood up instead of obeying the commands to stay down. Also Dora Bloch, a hostage, became ill and was supposedly sent to a hospital but she was never seen again. A great book is "Operation Thunderbolt" by Saul David. Great detail on how the op came to be as well as a full account of the mission. The extent to which the IDF trained and flew practice runs to show the brass (Mordechai Gur in particular) that it could work.

I'd forgotten that. I watched the 1977 movie last night on Youtube. Charles Bronson. What else do you need? Honestly, now I don't feel the need to watch the new movie since the 1977 version was so good. The only drawback is the 1977 movie is 480p, but the quality was good 480p. It didn't totally suck. .

since the movie is out, and nobody is talking about it, plus, reviews aren't high, then I assume this movie is a flop and not worth seeing. Is my assumption correct, or has anyone actually seen it? .

Some of the reviews are describing the movie as an anti-Israel movie, a movie that humanizes the terrorists. quote from the director, José Padilha:
http://deadline.com/2018/02/jo...e-berlin-1202295248/ sounds like moral equivalence to me.

I saw it today and I don’t think it demonized the Israeli’s at all. It definitely painted PM Rabin in a good light as a negotiator and seeker of peace. It made me hate the 2 German Socialist terrorists (especially the female.) The raid itself was the most disappointing part. It was only about 5 min and was interspliced with an Israeli dance troop (I shit you not.) It tried to be too artsy and failed to make you care about any of the character including the hostages. I give it a C+. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.
