Agreed. Personally I prefer the traditional like you've posted.

But my sons, especially my first born, a navy corpsman who served with the marines, who recently passed loved this rendition. It will be played Thursday at his interment at the Black Hills National Cemetery after the military honors ceremony.

I had never seen or heard the version posted by the OP. Incredible. My inner Scotsman was deeply moved.

The Dropkick Murphy's version is equally moving but in a less reflective and more "kick ass" way.
