Just watched Season One over the last week or so. Thought it was great. I watched Episode 1 of Season 2 last night. I thought it was outstanding. It has an extended action sequence that is one of the very best I have seen in a long time. It actually was better than action sequences I have seen in some big budget movies. Definitely worth your time.

The thing about this show that annoys me is that Zoe Saldana is so angry in her position to the degree that she is so entitled and arrogant.
It just seems overblown and unnatural especially when dealing with superiors which demand respect at least by rank.
Other than that the action is good.

Taylor Sheridan’s character is the best.

Beware of the old soldier he’s old for a reason.

This. I suspect in the real world, she'd be out on her ass regardless of her effectiveness.

I'm only about 2/3rds of the way through Season 1, and I like it so far, but I agree with the comment about Joe's attitude being overblown.

They're falling into the same trap as a lot of other shows/movies, where by trying to create and portray a "powerful, confident, complex character" they just end up making them appear insufferable at times.

Meh...if some of the folks in the OGA are Type A to a fault and they deliver results for people who are concerned about results and not making friends...because their influence comes from the power of those above them. At that level, they are loyal to a handful of people--and build alliances with others who can help them. It's less about customs and courtesies and "chain of command"

Wait until you see season two. She comes across as a miserable bitch.

I got through season two and gave up on it. Just too much extraneous crap.

There used to be a show on a group of special forces soldiers and it rapidly morphed into the dysfunctional wives club.

Gave up on that too.

You may be thinking of “The Unit”. Great show until it wasn’t. Seal Team was headed the same direction. Fortunately the show ended before it could go off the deep end

That’s the one. Yes it started out with a lot of promise but jumped the shark pretty quick.

Now being partway into Season 2, I see what you mean.

"Experienced master spy who screams and rants at the drop of a hat" isn't a very good character concept. Yeesh.

In Sheridan's case, apparently that reason is steroids. Big Grin

New hugely buff physique aside, he's got the classic hallmarks with the red skin and puffy/swollen face.

I bet he found a doctor willing to diagnose him as having "low testosterone" despite his levels being fine, so he can juice legally. I know some cops who chose to go the same route, with the same physical results.

Just started season 2. Haven't seen the rant part yet but if I was responsible for an organization that did X and kept being asked to do Y or X+Y or Y(X-2), I would be angry too. Big Grin

Aaaaaand episode 2 did it for me. Not so much her going off on everyone at the base/FOB but apparently the super secret hush hush Lioness program is common knowledge among Army aviators??

Thanks for all the warnings, guys. Among other things, I'm already sick and tired of Taylor Sheridan everywhere. It wasn't until we watched the latest Yellowstones with my addicted sister that I found it Sheridan acts as well. He is a megalomaniac.

He was an actor long before he was a writer/director/producer. But mostly just smaller roles in the late 90s and 2000s, like single episode bit parts on network stuff like CSI and NCIS. His biggest acting role was a couple season run as a supporting actor on Sons of Anarchy.

But in the early 2010s he then wisely chose to focus on writing over acting, as he is (was?*) a much better writer than actor. Nowadays his acting is relegated to just self-inserted characters in his own shows.

*His early writing and directing stuff is fantastic. Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River, etc. But once his fame took off in the last several years with the massive success of Yellowstone, and studios started throwing ridiculous money at him and letting him make literally any show he wanted, all at once, the quality of his output started to slide noticeably. He now has something like seven shows running concurrently, plus a bunch more in various stages of preproduction, plus his blatant attempts at over-monetizing every side business he can get his hands on: coffee, liquor, beer, mail-order beef, clothing, restaurants, etc.

Nobody can spin that many plates while keeping the quality of their work high across the board.

I am starting to get annoyed with this show but tread on anyway.
In the last episode, Nicole Kidman has a scene where she tells ole Joe that she is indispensable and her team was expendable. WTF! Confused
Unless I saw something wrong or out of context.

That's what she said, she said that. Bitch-breath is "a Force Multiplier" and therefore non-expendable. Her team is just cannon fodder.

My ability to tolerate such bullshit is wearing pretty thin. Sadly, it's a desert out there, no much to watch.
