I got a few boxes of books from my grandmother [most were donated to local bookstore], when she moved out of her house into a much smaller place. One was a DeMille book Spencerville. Unreadable, since it's all glued together [and hollowed out to fit a S&W 36]
Ya might want to try another volume with detachable and complete pages. He wrote good action stories - think Lee Child and David Baldacci. See original link for details.

Big fan, especially of the John Corey series. I got away from them after a bit, just other things going on in my life. In one of them, he describes both the coffee shop in my old college town and perhaps the girl I knew who worked there, vacant expression, nose ring, tattoos and all. I have a number of his hard backs in first editions on the shelf behind me. Probably about time to dust them off again in order and fill in the missing ones.

Sad news, he was one of the good guys. I have enjoyed many of his books over the years, kept a few on my book shelf, passed a few on to others who enjoyed them as well. RIP, a Patriot and Brother in Arms.
I've read most of his books though none lately. Some of "Word of Honor" takes place in the Officer's Club at Fort Hamilton in NYC, I toured the classic old building a few years ago.

I mean, a bad movie yes. One that shows the rule that the book is always better than the movie.
I really loved many of his books, I mean, I haven't read them all so . . .
AND, to his credit, he did not leave any trilogies open with his demise.
He will be missed.

Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath.
