I've tried to sing the melody to Do You Feel by Frampton three different ways and Google refuses to i.d. it .

Have a crack at it ,
Without words only melody,

Perhaps you will do better.

Are you talking about on your phone? Because that's not really how it works. You play it a song, like on the TV, or over a store's PA system, and it will identify it.

Yes sir, on my android phone.

About 75% of the time I can sing the melody of a song or tune into the phone and it will offer six or eight song titles.

It works much better with the lyrics,
Then it's 98% effective.

There are two buttons,
One is apuc of a microphone,
Then another marked song,

You have to poke both buttons for it to i.d. the song.

More often than not, six or eight bars will suffice, on occasion it might take ten bars.
