This is the 2013 film based on the 2009 play. The title is the phonetic alpha for CVR, "Cockpit Voice Recorder". The dramazitations are based on the actual cockpit recordings for six aircraft emergency incidents.

The performances are taut and emotionally gripping and the picture received numerous awards. I personally found it more engaging knowing the backround of each of the aviation incidents beforehand, but a "cold" viewing would certainly still be riveting.

I did find it slightly disconcerting to see the flight crew of JAL123 portrayed by 3 white people, one of them female, when the actual flight was crewed by 3 Japanese men. But no biggie.
