Back in 1975 she was the Empress of the Mardi Gras parade Argus in Metairie.

I caught the parade near the end of the route. As her float passed I waved to her. She looked down at me from the float and blew me a kiss.

I'm sure my knees buckled. I even turned around after she did that to see if she meant that for someone else, but there was no one around me.

That made my day.

Here's a link to a story about the parade with a picture of her on the float.

Happy birthday to Ms Eden, may she have many more.

I have loved her since the 60s. Glad she is still here, hope she has many more birthdays.

I'm a little late to her birthday party.
One of my favorite episodes of Andy Griffith.

Agreed, that episode of Andy Griffith is a favorite. She really was something to look at.

She didn't do tons of talk shows ,
But when she did, she seemed very genuine and normal.

Almost to the point of being not very interesting.

Glad she was on but not mind blowing

In 1968, if you said you didn't find Barbara Eden very interesting, they wouldn't let you join the Marines.

The Navy would take you, though.

Her Jeannie costume was designed to hide her belly button. Must have been quite the sight!

Happy Birthday to a beautiful woman who played a major part in one of the frequently visited subject of life discussions of my youth. Jeannie or Mary Ann? She always got my vote. Still does.

I have her on an episode of "Rawhide", as well as the movie "Ride The Wild Surf" (DVDs). Both filmed before her Jeannie days.
