WOW! That's all I can say about it, WOW! This new series about Jesus and his early ministry and his followers is really well done. Not full of lily white people with perfect teeth and English accents, but with people that you'd probably actually see in that region at that time. People like Peter are shown as being VERY young (he was) and Matthew is a particularly interesting portrayal, it's almost like he has Asperger's or something. Just got renewed/funded for Season 2.

We started it. Probably about 4 or 5 episodes in. It's a little hokey but also fun and interesting.

The Wikipedia article states,
quote:
The first season was distributed on its own mobile app free around the world,[20] as well as the VidAngel streaming platform in the United States.[21]

In March and April 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first season of The Chosen was made available completely free with no restrictions through its app.[1][3]

Season four was really well done. Season five is out in three parts in the theaters. We watched part 1 on Wednesday

"The Chosen: Last Supper," Season 5, is in theaters with Part 1 (Episodes 1&2) starting March 28th, Part 2 (Episodes 3, 4, 5) on April 4th, and Part 3 (Episodes 6, 7, 8) on April 11th."

Agree with the OP that the actors are very realistic; and also agree Matthew's portrayal is extremely well done--yes, Asperger's for sure. We watched only the first season so far, but I want to get back to watch the rest.

For something even more impressive, The Chosen: Last Supper Part 2 took in $7 million at the box office last week with Snow White's 3rd week total dumping it to 4th with $5.9 million..

Caught episode two last night and will see part three next week. Can't wait

There are so many great characters and stories in the Bible, they would make some great shows

The House of David on Amazon is some good TV

Just started watching House of Davison recommendation of a well known conservative attorney on X.
Agree it is well done with realistic sets and portrayals, and biblically based.
