Yep. They also reworked the Hobbit movies to compensate for the wonky frame rate it was originally shot in, so they reportedly now look less "soap opera"-like and more film-like.

I recall watching that film in the theater at (60fps). Soap opera'ish is the perfect description. It was terrible. I think it was IMAX too. Sometimes, more is not better.

Weren’t the colors all jacked up in the Hobbit as well, because they were trying to pump up 3D?
