I watched this recently. I haven’t had a streaming Netflix sub in a few years (Blu Rays only which is going away). Excellent film. But the standout was Eddie Redmayne’s performance. Out of everything in 2022 leading up to the Oscars, this was the standout, by far, for an actor in a supporting role. Rayne was truly demented, fucked up, deranged, etc, with this character. It’s always one scene that drives the coffin nail home, and I will not spoil the scene, but Cullen starts repeating himself and it was very very disturbing. Instead, they gave the supporting actor to that guy in that dipshit Everywhere All At Once wokefest bullshit. I was surprised to see the real best performance in a film on Netflix but there it was.

Excellent film and Jessica Chastain is superb as always. The film and Redmayne’s performance really caught me off guard. Just wasn’t expecting it. Eddie was nominated for the Golden Globe but not the Oscar and it just goes to show how utterly delusional the Academy is. Had he been anything but white, and portraying gay, easy win.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone
