Alan Arkin

Didn't see this posted yet though it was last week. He had many great roles particularly in comedies. Catch-22, The Russians are Coming... and loved his role in Grosse Pointe Blank.

Watch him batter with Michael Douglas in The Kominsky Method on Netflix it was absolutely great. I hated it when he was no longer on the show.

His small part as the police chief in So I Married an Axe Murderer was hilarious

I always enjoyed him. He was funny in every movie I recall seeing him in - “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Catch-22,” and “Argo,” to name a few.

The movies listed were great but I will always remember him for his Oscar nominated performance in “The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter” back in 1968

He almost always gave a good performance. He made "The Kaminsky Method."

I can't think of a role that he did that I didn't like.
Very funny man.
89? He had a great run! I remember watching The Komenski Method and thinking "wow, is he getting old!"

I immediately thought of two scenes:

"Emergency, emergency, everyone to get from street"

"Serpentine Shell, Serpentine!"

One of my favorite movies. Without this movie, my Outback would not have flames.

His comedy roles are well-credited here, but I'm reminded of his serious roles. Came across Wait Until Dark just the other night. Very effective as a bad guy creep as well. R.I.P. Alan Arkin.
