I have been a fan of hers for a long time. The interesting thing about her is that many times, instead of being a typical studio musician and just read and play off charts, she will create the bass line in a hit song, like this great song:
I always thought she would have been great in a band, to be part of the songwriting process, and receive songwriting co-credits. McCartney has stated that her playing on Pet Sounds influenced his playing on Sgt Pepper, mainly creating the high note lines like she was known for.

And, of course, Glen Campbell was himself a member of the Wrecking Crew. I was very careful to write “probably never heard of,” because I was sure there were some of you who most certainly had. Not surprised at the first two responders.

Much thanks for posting. Had no Idea either. True feminism in action. She should be heralded as someone for little girls to look up to. And "The Wrecking Crew" were unknown to me. Here is the movie about them from Utube
