Here’s my favorite. He’s songwriter, lead guitar, and vocalist. I was admittedly slow to take to his style of guitar, but I came to appreciate it; a whole lot of his leads were in major keys.

Given the Allman Brothers reputation for drugs and partying that would put Keith Richards to shame, I'm glad to see Betts make it to 80 yo. Great guitarist, he was the perfect partner for Duane Allman.
In memory of Dickey Betts.

I had most of the Allman Brothers albums back in the 70’s. They were my go to for music in my van. Blue Sky, Melissa and Ramblin Man were my favorites.
