My wife and I saw this Netflix offering the other night and highly enjoyed it! It's not just an amusing documentary without "woke" BS, it speaks to how a couple of good "kids" (in their late 20's) stumbled out of the hookup culture and found each other as good people. In 2020, a young man with no interest in serious dating meets a young woman who's in the same place after leaving an unhappy relationship. The man takes things slowly on the pleasant first date and ends the evening kissing the girl on her cheek (causing a bit of confusion on her part BTW). On the second date, the young man brings along a friend ("wingman") who is Asian, like the girl. He's trying to put her at ease, which in itself is kind of funny because she's pretty damn independent. The young man proposes a third date, where the two fly to Costa Rica for a long weekend and the young woman agrees. What could possibly go wrong??? As they board their flight to Costa Rica, they note there's not many passengers on the plane with them due to this emerging health issue called "a corona virus", and soon after arriving at their destination the impact of COVID-19 hits the two with full force. Not only are they worried about the health and safety of their loved ones back in the USA (both have great relationships with their families), but their flights home are cancelled and these two are basically forced into quarantine together for months!!! The guy is a "vlogger" and he records the subsequent effects on the two of them as both individuals and their budding relationship. It's a great way to spend about 90 minutes and watching this "documentary" will re-instill your faith in young people today, regardless of how shallow and unacceptable we can find their behaviors to be. If I ever saw a good "date night" movie to recommend, it would be:The Longest Third Date!!!
