I would watch it if they could somehow incorporate the following line:
"Now, think real hard. You've been birddoggin' this township a while now. They wouldn't mind a corpse of you. Now, you can luxuriate in a nice jail cell, but if your hand touches metal, I swear, by my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you."
The main actor is kind of a narrow performer AFAIK. He was a likable young colt in Firefly but there's no way you wouldn't side with Stana Katic in Castle and not consider Fillion a middle aged arrogant prick. There will have to be a lot of top notch gun play and no nonsense for the new series to succeed if they launch with a mediocre and quite limited main character.

Great flick!! Everytime I am flipping through the guide on DirecTV and I see the Rookie I pray that it is this movie. Everytime I am disappointed it is Dennis Quaid playing baseball. A decent motivational movie but, once or twice is enough.
