Been reading about thislately.

Loved the original despite its faults, great concept and quirky. The sequels ruined it. The director mentioned in other articles how he wanted to show the "past" lives of the immortals, not just their origins but down through the centuries, sort of taking cue from the series, which was pretty decent, IMO.

Looking forward to it. Hopefully the production will do the concept justice this time.

I would easily watch a Highlander movie starting Henry Cavil and directed by Chad Stahelski. Just tell me when and where.

For the movies besides the original, the Highlander 2 Director's Cut is a great terrible movie to watch. You can tell everyone had a great time making it, and the story makes more sense instead of the chop job done by the completion bond folks.

Huge fan of the original film. Having Queen write and perform most of the soundtrack? Fricking brilliant. I liked the shitty, cheeseball sequels. Just today, the scene with Mario Van Peebles confusedly trying to eat a condom came to mind for whatever reason. I watched random episodes of the show, never really caught the full plot. The end of the film with both Connor and Duncan was the end for me.

I think if anyone was going to do it and do real justice to it, Henry Cavill would be it. I'd give it a chance.

OMG! I had not heard any of this. The original is probably my favorite film of all time and I own several different version on DVD, so I am beyond excited about the possibility (it is sad how much of the dialog I can quote)!
As several others have mentioned, the films should have stopped with the original (There can be only one!), and I will say no more about the dreck that followed. Fingers crossed that they can get it past the finish line!

I hope this happens. Henry Cavil would be great in this role.

Loved Highlander, But which sequel do we favor. 2 or 3?

I have always wondered how the pitch meeting for 3 went. "We are going to make a third one but we will pretend two didn't happen. . ." "but aliens were . ." "shut up john, just shut up"

I actually liked 4 (Endgame). 5 was a total waste of a movie.

Heh. For me it's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
The original Highlander is still one of my favorite movies. The sequels ranged from interesting to meh. The series was good until they killed off Tessa.

Like everyone else here, I loved the first movie and the tv series. Henry Cavill is a big nerd and is passionate about the lore of projects he is involved in. Hopefully, the studio doesn’t meddle too much.
