What happened to the X Files?

I just binge watched seasons 1-9 on Hulu. Got to season 10, the “new” stuff, and wtf? It’s like the show was taken over by interns trying to get a job at MSNBC.

I made it three episodes into season 10 and quit. I’m out. How can they screw it up this badly?
