"Police Squad!" My DVD collection has all six original episodes, but a few years later it came back as "The Naked Gun" movie. With Leslie Nielsen, who passed seven years ago today.

In the last year or two I have been trying to find past episode of The Streets of San Francisco with Karl Malden and Michael Douglas on METV, GRIT etc..

In some ways kind of cheesy but I like the banter between Malden and Douglas characters.

I never saw Buddy Faro, but I always like Dennis Farina, especially his character on Law and Order.

I liked a show in nbc a few years ago called Life. Charlie Crews was quirkie in a cool kind of way.

I don't know if The Shield qualifies as a detective show, but it is my favorite show of all time.
