I recently read an article about James Bond's weapons in Guns magazine. The statement was made that the famous PPK became 3 other weapons at various points in the Dr No movie. I found this on You Tube and it seems to prove the article true: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XzZBCJDPr8 Dr No is one of my favorite Bond movies and the video showed some other interesting goofs. I knew the first time I saw the movie that the PPK became a FN. I also knew about the S&W-1911 mix up.

Yep, the "thats a Smith and Wesson and you've had your six" scene in Dr No when the bad guy had a 1911 amused me. But for me the ultimate Connery 007 wonder weapon is the AR-7 Survival Rifle used in From Russia With Love. Great for shooting down helicopters!. The heavily armed Gyrocopter in You Only Live Twice is a favorite too. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

More importantly, In Dr. No, Honey Ryder, Ursula Andress's flesh-colored swimsuit is visible when she steps out of the shower, ![]()

That scene to me is forgivable, b/c Bond appeared to be aiming for and hitting the pilot, which lead to the helicopter crashing. The bigger cinema sin was in Spectre at the end when Bond uses his .380 PPK to shoot down Blofeld's helicopter w/ one shot from about 800m.

I though his shots hit the "bombardier," who pulled the pin on a grenade but failed to drop it which caused the explosion.
