The Nostromo only cost $42,000,000 to build so they probably had to use salvage parts.

The flashback episode was pretty good, but DAMN what an incompetent crew. Everyone, except for the cyborg security officer was a complete moron. The apprentice's dumbassery was a bit over the top. How did this team even manage to collect such specimens without getting killed in the first place?

I'm curious to learn more about the eyeball critter. It seems very intelligent.

That was my thought too. They all seemed pretty stupid, as well as being just generic characters types to check all the boxes. Although I didn’t expect much character development, since they were all literally expendable, they were mostly boring and unlikable. I didn’t mind when they all got killed.

What was up with the creepy Asian navigator?

I thought he was an android, which made the xenopmorph attack very odd.

That’s what I thought I remembered from the first episode too. But why make such a creepy synth?
Who’s that for?

Not sure. He may be the same model as Ash, but even Ash wasn't that odd initially.

Episode 5 could have been a movie all on it's own.

Now we know what the Space Marines meant by going on a bug hunt.

Creepy Asian dude was probably running from the law.
A sexual predator.

The black cyborg guy is very familiar to the black character on the Nostromo.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

I like it but the scientist aggravated me with her super lax attention to any lab protocols. It made for good TV but it drove me nuts.

Was the eyeball octopus trying to help her, distract her, or save her for itself?

I like xenos when they show them more in the shadows. Im glad there's a dude in the suit but it can look super silly super quick.

As the show continues i like the score especially the intro/title card but not ending with rock songs. It doesnt work for me and feels like a misstep.

True, but when it was fully grown in its cell in the lab and unfolded from the ceiling, that was pretty bad-ass.

Just watched Episode 6. Two more to go. I’ll be very disappointed if there isn’t an epic Morrow vs Kirch battle coming up.

For a place that has tight security and cameras everywhere, it’s surprising that things can happen and go unnoticed by anyone. Guess no one ever looks at the camera feeds except Kirch, who obviously knows what’s going on, and is probably directing everything. He’s very much a David type synth, not a Bishop.

I don’t understand how the hybrid went down so quick. Based on Wendy’s earlier battle with the ship xenomorph, they should be a lot more resilient. Also, the secure lab seems very poorly designed. You’d think there would be a panic or alarm button in case of a problem instead of calling security on a phone and waiting until they pick up. Plus, large ventilation ducts that anyone could use to easily bypass lab containment?

The eye creature seems pretty interesting and can’t wait to see where that’s going. Although, as a species it seems kind of weird since it depends on other creatures having a human or similar eye. Strange that would develop on a completely alien planet billions of miles from Earth.

I was happy with the season finale last night. Left plenty of possibilities for the next season.

As the show promises an ongoing dive into misanthropy, good to know the eyeball has found a home.

The title of the finale was appropriate, but it gets to one problem I have with the show. Who are you supposed to root for? Almost every character is some level of horrible. Some you wish would die horribly and others you don’t care anything about. Wendy is no better than Kirch, Morrow, or Boy, and is more of an Ash (I admire the Aliens for their purity) / David (humans are inferior) combo. Can’t the Alien universe figure out how to make synths that aren’t evil? Guess the 3 laws of Robotics don’t exist in this universe. I thought the only decent character was Arthur, and we know what happened to him. At this point, I’m rooting for the eyeball creature to kill everyone.

I wish they would have wrapped up more in the finale instead of simply pushing everything to season 2. It’s never been explained how Wendy can control xenomorphs, especially from a distance. It hasn’t even been really explained how she’s the only one who can control all electronic devices, including synths (can she control Kirch too?). Plus, xenomorphs are bulletproof now? It looked like the Prodigy forces were using pulse rifles.

My initial thoughts after finishing the finale.

I'm glad the show exists and its been a while since I was excited to catch the next episode of a show.

I love Morrow and Kirsch (as characters) and feel very bad for Arthur (the actor killed it, in the good way, I was suffering watching his final moments, and he was really well written). Maybe Dame, I get it from the kid logic perspective but morally they are all over the place.

I'd love them to review their choices on some things for the new season and I dont think they will. I will likely still watch it anyways sadly.

Wendy sucks. Shes Ray Skywalker. She's just perfect at everything for no particular reason and has convenient and game-breaking superpowers. Cmon. Its a kind of interesting mental arc but overall I cant get excited for her. I liked her at times but I just think shes an uninteresting character since shes in the underground bunker of plot armor.

Stop showing the xenomorph sitting on a beach in broad daylight or in well lit scenes. Its just basically become murderlassie. Also why does it follow Wendy? I get she makes mouth noises, ok I guess but it follows zero logic. You know what would have been interesting? If she thought she could control it and it geeked her brother for like no reason. Because its a xenomorph. One of the scariest monsters ever to grace the screen and suddenly its showing up under the christmas tree in a box with some holes in it as long as a ten year old can make some starvin marvin sounds.

I will pile onto the bulletproof xeno as well as miracle Nibs regen. Siberian having an arm cast after taking the equivalent of falling into a garbage compactor and just bebopping down hallways afterward was silly. Its the future, cool tech, I still want you to atleast be hungover in a bacta-tank for like one minute. Also synths and hybrids arent impervious re-ash, bishop etc. Lame, keep it within the preset boundaries that have existed for like 40 years or explain why its different.

Also why would the eye choose Arthur versus waiting in the office for Boy?

I'd be lying if I wasnt disappointed but there was enough for me to come back. Maybe I'll feel differently later? Alot of it feels like lazy writing. I'm glad we get a chance to babble about it though!

The xeno didn’t look great on the beach either. Sometimes it’s obviously a guy in a suit, no matter how they try to hide it with bushes, and not a super tall, very thin guy like the original Alien movie.

Which is interesting since they found a very tall very thin guy for romulus. I like guy in a suit to a certain extent, I just wonder if it would be less of an issue if it wasnt broad daylight. I've had the issue with the posing before and the alien was noticably very good in dark scenes but like my gripe with CG, they showed it too much and too often in my opinion.

THought it started really strong. Then slowed down for a few episodes then finished pretty strong.

Over all I generally like the whole Alien & Predator world & movies. I look forward to next season.
