Would a supercharger and a turbocharger suit you? Volvo XC60 T6 AWD?

Thank you Sir.
I know little to nothing about them other than they are quite popular around here.

Back when I was looking to replace my good ol' 2007 Chevy TrailBlazer I first thought to get a Porsche Cayenne. The good members here quickly disabused me of the wisdom of that idea

From there I went through the various affordable options. Every time I read a review, the reviewers would add "But, if you're thinking of <this>, you should also consider the Jeep Grand Cherokee." Finally, after about candidate #4 or #5, I took a look at the JGC. The more I read, the more I liked.

Went to look at one at a dealership. Lo and behold: It had this

in it. (I hadn't realized that when we went to check it out. We were just going to look.) Well, I used to be a street racer on Woodward Avenue back in the day. So as soon as I hit the "start" button it was all but over. Fifteen-twenty minute test drive later it was all over.

I didn't realize this, at the time, either: That cold air intake you see in that photo is a performance upgrade. Also, the PO had had the exhaust tip resonators chopped-out. Taken together: That Jeep has significantly more audible presence when you get on it than factory stock Smile

That definitely looks like it will do the trick. Wink
You just don't see V8s in mid-sized anything much anymore.

My better half has a 2016 Ford Edge Titanium with the V6. I was surprised at how quick it is. I can't imagine what a 5.7L V8 would do in a vehicle that size.

Anything would feel quick compared to my 2020 4Runner but hey...speed was not the reason I bought it.

Thank you guys,

I am going to take a look at the JGC in person, with the 5.7 it would suit my needs. The interior is very plain though in comparison to the other models.

PGT, you are so right I went to a Dodge dealership to check out picking up a Challenger and Durango combo. Not one person said a word to me or offered to help even the receptionist looked up and then away. I know I wasn't wearing a suit but seriously...

Went to the Audi dealership and they greeted me right away then walked me around the place. Similar experience at the Mercedes dealership.

It is funny that you mention that, the whole reason I am even looking at these is my mom's health has been decreasing significantly. Which means I have been driving her around to a lot more appointments. She has a really hard time getting in my truck even with the side steps, and even worse time getting in to my Corvette.

Wow. Really? It sure isn't in my 2015 JGC. Then again: In 2015 Jeep was still owned by Daimler, and word has it MB's designers had a lot of input into the interior design.

My 2015 JGC has been surprising in a number of ways. By the nature of the interior appointments I kinda sorta expected it to handle like a boat--even though it was ostensibly a Jeep. But, while it rides more quietly than did my 2007 TrailBlazer, it's a mildly stiffer ride and it handles much more firmly and responsively than did the TB.

I was turned off to Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep for years after an experience just like that in one of their dealerships. The dealership from which I bought my JGC is just the opposite, however.

A contractor customer of mine bought one when they first came out. He said the IRS made him buy it. 5000 GVW so it could be classified, and written off, as a work truck.

I've been driving a BMW (my first) X3 M40i since 2019 and love it! It's small enough on the outside to fit in our two car garage quite well, but inside it's plenty comfortable for the two up front and three in the back with lots of room for cargo. I've never had a car this peppy (355 hps in a light package) and see no reason to move up to the even more powerful versions of the X3 M series that have been offered since.
