When I was much younger in college, I thought it was a mellotron, had no idea it was a Fender Rhodes that was layered with the guitars. Genius.

I always liked Stairway to Heaven, but it was not my favorite song on the IV album- When the Levee Breaks was king of that album, along with Black Dog and Misty Mountain Hop.

Those of us who lived through those years remember well the stir this album - and in particular, this song created. As often happened back then, “Stairway” was overplayed on the radio, as were so many from the Eagles. Rick Beato, in breaking down the recording and the recording engineering mastery of Andy Johns, helped me understand WHY the song is so loved and important in in rock history. I appreciate that. This album is one that I purchased in the last 4 or 5 years on 180 gram vinyl. I guess I need to listen again.
