IMO, Santana is among the greatest guitar players. When in doubt, mumble

Undeniably. I loved that band he put together in the early years and that massive percussion Latin rock sound. You may not know that in 2016 he released an album called “Santana IV,” (actually his 24th studio album) that reunited the members of that band from “Santana,” “Abraxas,” and “Santana III (the outstretched hand).” Kind of a shame that if you try to put together a Pandora station based on Santana, you just get old rock, rather than Latin rock. _______________________________________________________ despite them

At the time, quadraphonic was coming into fashion and this was released on quad via 8 track. It really made your head spin. I loved it. One of my favorites early on. Oye Como Va and Black Magic Woman were excellent. Enjoyed their performance at Woodstock also, the drummer had one heck of a solo! Regards, Will G.

6guns, I got this from Wikipedia as that was ages ago and my memory from those days is a bit "foggy" anyways My sister was lucky enough to go to Woodstock. "Shrieve was the second youngest musician to perform at Woodstock in 1969, being aged 20. His drum solo during "Soul Sacrifice" in the Woodstock film has been described as "electrifying",[2] even if he considers his drum solo during "Soul Sacrifice" in 1970 at Tanglewood better." "Soul Sacrifice" What a great memory. I almost forgot that Carlos was playing an SG on that tune! Nice work on that Hammond B-3 too.Nice looking PRS flamer on the split screen also. I had a mahogany colored top that I had special ordered from Ed's guitars here in Miami, that he ordered from PRS for me in the late 80's or early 90's, a great player, beautiful bird inlay work on the fretboard. Man you can almost smell the weed watching Woodstock.. Regards, Will G.

Shrieve’s solo in Soul Sacrifice is my all-time favorite drum solo. Mind you, I don’t go searching for drum solos, but his is special to me, not so much for the skill he shows as the pure entertainment of it. It’s not boring, it’s fun, and a lot of solos aren’t. _______________________________________________________ despite them

Only about "45" for me...I didn't buy a copy until five years after its release. Tower Records, man... I used to belong to both Columbia and RCA record clubs for a while; great prices but often wasn't particularly impressed by the sound quality of their vinyl re-pressings, especially RCA's. -MG

I like all the early Santana stuff. I think "Santana III" was a standout album, that really show-cased Carlos' guitar mastery. Especially, on tracks like: Toussaint L'Overture. __________________________ "We're after men - and I wish to God I was with them. Santana III is my favorite (but it isn’t 50 years old, yet ). “Taboo” is my favorite Santana song of all. _______________________________________________________ despite them
