82, Covid Related...

Sad. I grew up watching the cheesy karate flicks bank in the 70's and 80's. Sonny Chiba was in the top three "BAMF's" back then, trailing close behind Bruce Lee and Carlos "Chuck" Norris. Yeah, he stared in those flicks, but also held about 6 black belts in various martial arts, and was actually a pretty tough dude. From what my friends who have met the man have told me, he was also a pretty humble and humorous individual.

Karate Bear Fighter, Karate Street Fighter, Karate Bull Fighter (my favorite scene was when Sonny forearm smashes a bulls horn off)... Yakuza Cop, Karate for Life. And later stared as Hattori Hanzo, the retired sword maker in the Quentin Tarantino movie Kill Bill.

When it comes to legendary Japanese actors, he's up there with Toshiro Mifune. RIP Chibasama.
