Anyone watched this? 1st episode left me dubious about sticking with it, lacked coherence.

Watching the preview just now it seems someone at Netflix saw Apple's (excellent!) Slow Horses series and decided to rip it off.

Yup, watching the 1st episode I told my wife this is sort of like Slow Horses. The opening scene was pretty unexpected. Will watch some more to see it can hold my interest.

Watching it, like it so far. Not much competition tho.

Watched the whole season.

I’m not recommending it but I wouldn’t warn you off of it.

Some of the supporting cast get more development in the later episodes, which helped take the focus off of the lead character’s “Yeah, I’m an a-hole and let me prove it to you with every word I speak” shtick. That started to wear thin after awhile.

Liked the Scots accents and the Edinburgh scenery.

I like it, though I agree with you about the "I'm an asshole" bit. I am on episode 7 so I'm hoping to see what (if any) relevance his kid and ex have other than to reinforce 'the bit'.

European crime series are pretty good. Not sure if it's due to the accents/scenery or what, but I generally really enjoy them.

Several annoying aspects. But I generally found it watchable. I think the Syrian cop was a scene stealer. Deadpan dangerous.

It lacked coherence to set you up for the twist and turns the series takes.

Well worth watching. Like most English series, the minor character development is excellent
