I'm glad I didn't give my . . . . Only saw them for about 15 minutes. Fortunately for me, my friend "lit up" first and was quickly arrested. We spent the rest of the night dealing with that. We were from Chicago and this was somewhere over the border in Wisconsin - Kenosha maybe? Feel sorry for the people who saw the show straight LOL!

I was listening to some Country this morning and recalled a couple of shows that we’ve seen in just the last couple years. Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen together; and Clint Black. I liked his stuff when he was a big act in Nashville. I understand that corporate Country radio makes it a practice to phase out a performer at about 50 and that’s what happened to Clint Black. He put on a great show. His voice is unchanged to my ear and he has a great band. _______________________________________________________ despite them

The Guarneri String Quartet. For many years, they started their season off here in Richmond before moving to more sophisticated places. For several years, Arnold Steinheardt (their 1st violin) and I met after the performance and exchanged musician (mostly violist) jokes. Bo Didley story. My girlfriend's daddy ran some kind of finance company in McComb Miss. back in the 60's. Every month he would have to go to Bo Didley's daddy's house to collect. Just about every time he would tell her daddy that Mr. Huff Bo Didley is coming home this week and he would give him money. _______________________________________________________ And no, junior not being able to hold still for 5 seconds is not a disability.

Lol! I'm going to rub salt in the wound... Many of those shows I saw from first ten rows center, for free. Some were with backstage passes. Just so happened that I worked (in a different capacity) for the local promoter through most of the '70's. It was incredible. I was very lucky.

I'm sure I can't remember them all, but I'll play along. Chicago Bon Jovi x2 .38 Special x2 Van Halen The Fabulous Thunderbirds Bob Seger Kiss Ted Nuget Skid Row Ricky Scaggs x2 Dixie Chicks Charlie Robison Survivor Brooks and Dunn Keith Urban Montgomery Gentry Toby Keith Trace Atkins x4-5 Alan Jackson Zack Brown Band Trick Pony Robert Earl Keen Whiskey Myers Reckless Kelly x5-6 Bruce Springsteen Jimmy Buffett x3 Kansas Styx That's just off the top of my head, I know there are more but it's late and I'm tired. There's also plenty of smaller local bands and openers that I didn't list, just because no one knows them. Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.
