Jeff Lynne is a genius in my opinion. I love everything ELO has produced.

I always thought "Telephone Line" was an extension of this from 1971, when they were still officially the Electric Light Orchestra and just getting their feet on the ground --

I listened to an ELO greatest hits playlist from my iPhone on my last trip home from the Keys. I knew most of the words to 23 out of 25 of the songs which was really weird because I've never owned an ELO album. They must have been played a lot on the radio when I was growing up.

trapper189, same here.. I think I first heard ELO on Billy Madison and it's not something I actively played/listened to. Maybe it's something universal, some kind of living thing, or got a LOT of airplay.. I just know that even though I never bought an album, I just can't get it out of my head...

Good stuff. Thanks. Rick Beato has a video stating that older music is increasing and current music is declining.

Let’s not forget his work with The Traveling Wilburys. Good stuff.

Good tune. All I can think about when I hear that song is Adam Sandler calling Steve Buscemi in Billy Madison.

That was the first thing I thought of. Any movie with Steve Buscemi is great in my book.

I discovered “The Fall” and “Calling America” last night with this thread. Any other favorites I should check out?
