I got the new Alice Cooper album Detroit Stories in vinyl double album format. I just figured I was getting the new album and was really looking forward to spinning it but it's some sort of special edition (#536 of 1000 made, strictly limited splatter double vinyl). I'm having a hard time opening it because I'm not sure if it's meant as a collectable or if only being 1000 of them means anything significant. Is there value in such a thing by not opening it? I kind of want to listen to it and I kind of want to leave it mint. I know ebay ruined a lot of the collectable market years ago, so is collecting such things even a thing anymore?

Just buy the cd and listen to that. https://www.amazon.com/Detroit...45026452084&hydadcr= I doubt that the vinyl is a great investment but you never know.

Yeah, the banned album art stuff is probably the only valuable stuff. Being the klutz that I am, I should have just gone with the digital files.

"Love it to Death" is my favorite Alice Cooper album (when they were all Alice Cooper). _____________________________ "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." That's the one with the banned album cover because of "the thumb".

What kind of music does this Alice Cooper chick play? I just bought a 1 of 1000 Call album. I played it. A little off topic, but I watched a YT video of Alice being interviewed by Tom Snyder. Holy crap, Alice must have been in the throes of heavy addiction to alcohol and cocaine. He looked terrible. And he couldn’t have weighed 100 lbs. I didn’t recognize him. Am so glad he got his shit together. Now a Christian Family man leading a healthy life. Mark—I saw an Amazon review that stated the album is to be played at 45rpm. True?

I still haven't opened it. It's on youtube already so I got to hear it. It's actually very good. He's 73 and still pumping out good ol' rock n roll.

We went to see Alice during the Billion Dollar Babies tour in June of '73 at the Toledo Sports Arena. It was one of the weirdest concert experiences ever. I remember being impressed by the warmup band, ZZ Top, which I hadn't heard of at the time. Alice did about three songs before the band abruptly left the stage. The management of the Sports Arena let us sit there for about 45 minutes before announcing that some asshole had thrown an object (firecracker, bottle?) that struck a band member, and they were not returning to the stage.

Love Alice Cooper. Schools out, Killer, Billion Dollar Babies. “She” asked me why the singers name was Alice.
