^^ Yup, that detectives only need the facts ma'am, even though they've never said it; good sheriffs never need to carry a gun (on a daily basis), and bad guys can't hit what they shoot at and they have magic sparking bullets. Ooh and the really cool detectives have a pet alligator inn their boat. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. His diet consists of black coffee, and sarcasm. |
I'm sure Adam-12 familiarized us with the California penal code (211 for armed robbery, etc.) and the LAPD phonetic alphabet.

Yep. That is the first TV I can remember watching. When I was about 10, I started singing the opening song, and my mother asked me where I heard it, and I told her from TV when I was little and she said there was no way I could remember that as I was about a year and a half old. But I told her what the room looked like and the furnishings and she just shook her head. And Fred Gwynne has always been a "friend" to me. I knew him my whole life, from my yute. So, you're not old enough to get my reference? I'll just leave it for a while. I use 10-codes sometimes. Like I'll ask someone what their "10-20" is. I usually get a blank response.

That one always bothered me. "Gun shot wound" is 3 syllables. "GSW" is 5. Writing it is ok but saying it is useless. What does that even mean?

Ah, thanks. My wife watches those shows and I've heard then say that. I just discount it and read SIGforum.

EOW from Adam-12 Speaking of which, Adam-12 used a real police dispatcher as the dispatcher on the show. Shaaron Claridge. Worked 30 years most of which in the LAPD Van Nuys division. Interesting enough and Following Milner's death on September 6, 2015, Claridge broadcast the "End of Watch" transmission over the LAPD radio recognizing Milner's performance as Officer Pete Malloy in Adam-12. ______________________________________________ Life is short. It’s shorter with the wrong gun…

Getting a "rip". I'm not sure if it means a reprimand or something more serious.
