Johnny Quest is as amazing today as it ever was. I am too young to have seen it first air but grew up on the reruns and I have the series in my collection and it is as good now as ever. Also it could NEVER be made today for a myriad of namby pamby snowflake reasons.

I also have Thundarr the Barbarian in my collection and you know what those are way better then I remembered. Like solid art, solid post apocalyptic stories and what not.

And I am and have always been a Scooby Doo fan.

I remember climbing out of bed in my onesie at 4 am on Saturday morning. Pouring myself a bowl of Lucky Charms and watching cartoons until around 10 am. Good times...

I was going to say how those violent cartoons had no effect on our lives but then I realized we all are here on a gun forum.

I loved watching the cartoons before Sky King, Rin Tin Tin and The Lone Ranger came on.

Seems like the battle cry for a lot of todays youngsters.

Sid and Marty Croft had many wild shows in my youth. They must have inhaled.

When I was a kid, I always liked the live action shows the best. Stuff like Shazam! and Isis (Joanna Cameron ) Power Hour, Kaptain Kool and the Kongs, Arc II and dumb stuff like that. Of the cartoons, Hong Kong Phooey was my favorite.

I've got MeTV with the OTA antenna and I may just have to tune in to see some old cartoons. Thanks.

I remember thinking how life sucked when I got to be catechism age.

There's four years of Saturday morning cartoons I will never get back.

The Bugs & Road Runner hour was terrific. I especially like the Tex Avery cartoons.

The Me Tv commercial that was just on said that the cartoons will be on Mon - Friday ,

however you are spot on about Jonny Quest,
I bought the DVD set of JQ and Star Trek, the Animated series,


watch them both every few years

I also watched Jonny Quest on Saturday morning reruns. It always struck me how dramatic and mature it was compared to other Hanna-Barbera productions, and featured people being shot or killed or exploding. It wasn't until years later when the internet came along that I found out it was a primetime TV series originally and not a pure kids show. That made so much sense. It was that, just like Bugs Bunny cartoons, it wasn't designed solely for kids originally. Programmers just tossed them onto their schedules later because they figured cartoons = for kids, and parents assumed the same.

Am I the only one that thought there was just something not quit right with the HeMan series?

When I was a kid, TV was just getting hold in homes. I was a teenager in high school before we had one.

My memories are of cartoons in the afternoons after school. Saturday morning favorites were all live-action: The Lone Ranger, Sky King, Fury, and Flicka.

The good old days.

Looney Tunes are timeless man!

GI Joe and Transformers were also a staple

I made sure to be up Saturday morning to watch these cartoons, and was not disappointed. They even had 1930s Popeye and Betty Boop.

After not thinking about them for a half century ,
