I watched it the other night, not knowing all the details but, was intrigued with the level of detail they put into this flick.

Should I have been surprised at the outcome? Given the era these movies are being made and the topics that are constantly being inserted, it was becoming apparent half-way through what was going to happen and it was only a matter of how it was going to be presented.

Wasn't shocked, as its just another movie getting pilled-up in the entertainment culture wars... Roll Eyes

I started watching it but even though it had some good actors, it was just .. boring. Bland. Even Stanley Tucci looked bored.

Another agenda driven flop. Anyhoo, The Tourist on Netflix looks intriguing. Limited series. Not the movie.

We kind of liked it. Well, up until the surprise WOKE ending which we did not see coming. That ruined it for me but certainly got the Hollywood seal of approval.

I really wanted to see this in theaters but never got the chance to, I was half tempted to pre-order it on blu-ray but held off. It's a shame if it's that bad. Maybe I'll wait to rent it for 5 bucks.

Watched it on Peacock. It was interesting, if a bit slow. A bit unbelievable in that everyone has a dirty little secret, but just went with it. As noted, it was pretty much obvious who was going to be elected by at least halfway through the movie. Didn’t like the “twist” at the end. Came out of nowhere, and had nothing to do with anything that happened previously in the movie. Straight up wokeness and pretty much ruined the movie for me.

I kind of liked it in that it basically showed that the Vatican can be no different than typical politics, cliques being formed, some leaders being power hungry for more power, skeletons in closets etc. The twist, well, think about it, minds will blow AND melt! Although I tend to agree that it would more than likely have been known, and that person would have probably never ascended to that point. Persons that were jockeying for that power knew a lot about the competition, except for that one. Doubtful.

Did we watch the same movie? I'll admit I got a little confused, but it wasn't "tranny shit."

WTF would you call a female Cardinal posing as a male Cardinal and thinking about transition surgery to remove ovaries and uterus?

…and who is now posing as a Male Pope?

Also, in the book, it stated it had a vagina and that part was removed to bring some obscurity to the final scenes, but make no mistake, this is transsexual ideology.

Full disclosure: I did not read the book myself, but read an article that described the above.

As an FYI, despite the movie's seeming contemporary woke ending, the movie is an accurate adaption of the novel of the same name, which was published in 2016.

Didn’t watch this nor any want to but was the book or movie a modern take on the dark age “Pope Joan” story/myth?

WARNING: PLOT SPOILER

I thought this Cardinal was born with both male and female sex organs (don't know what that's called) and was raised as a male. When the, er...problem was discovered I do not remember. I thought the cardinal said he went to the seminary as a male.

If I'm correct, that is certainly an "awkward" medical condition. It's not the same as a 100% male who decides he's female and demands to be treated as such.

I concur with Sigmund's interpretation of the Cardinal-in-question's physicality as presented in the movie. He had male genitals and only late in life while seeking medical treatment for an unrelated condition, was he informed that he had internal female organs. That's why he went to the Pope offering to resign, and, instead the Pope promoted him.

No, he was NOT a hermaphrodite.

He was intersex. A female raised as a male . But had a vagina.

He was a female.
