Started this series with zero expectations like I do most shows and series. I just want entertainment and action. My wife always wants to watch the entire pre-view and then watch the movie or show. The preview just spoils the show for me, so I only watch a few seconds to get a basic understanding of what to expect.

WoW! It just gets better and better! Give it a watch. Since I don't watch previews and think the way I do about spoilers I won't do that to you guys. Just turn it on OR search it and read everything about it and spoil it for yourself if you prefer that. LoL Give it a watch either way though.

Thanks, I'll have to check this out. Looks like it's from Mike Flanagan, the same guy who did Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Hill House, both of which were excellent Netflix horror miniseries from a few years back.

It helps if you're familiar with Poe's other works. The series is loaded with references to not only his writings but also to people he knew.

I really liked it and am watching it again after reading around in Poe's stuff a bit. The GF hated it.

I think my wife and I got partway through the second episode before we said "Nope!", stopped it, and removed it from our watch list.

I found it just "meh." My wife hated it.

What I've seen of Flanagan's:
Oculus
Hush
Hill House
Doctor Sleep

Oculus is awesome. Hush is OK. Doctor Sleep was barely OK. Hill House was a rather steamy pile.

Based on my prior experiences with his films, I am not eager to try more; the success/turd ratio isn't great. I like Poe well enough, but I won't ever look into this series. The amount of ads/articles I've seen online for it only bolster that decision.

Did the wives and girlfriends say why they hated it? I find that to be telling of some kind of flaw.

I didn't think it really got going until the 4-5th episode. It explained/i understood alot more about what was really going on about this time in the series

That was a weird one kind of liked it but kind of didn’t.

After watching it, this makes a lot of sense.

If you enjoyed both of those, I think you'll enjoy The Fall of the House of Usher. I know I enjoyed all three.

I finished it over the weekend, it did get a little weird in the 3rd or 4th episode. Then everything started to make sense. I liked it.

Wife and I enjoyed most of it. If you can get past the same sex couples and the spoiled rotten behaviour of the young generation it is quite entertaining.

Could have done with a long speech delivered almost at the end of the series. Long and unnecessary. Other than that, time well spent considering my other options in Argentina.

After we finished this we started watching “Bodies”. Same crime in four different times but show. concurrently. Wasted my time. Hated it before the 4th version of the crime was introduced .

I watched it all the way through and enjoyed it quite a lot. The comeuppances were reassuring and entertaining, and delightfully derived from Poe.

We finished it last night.

We quite enjoyed it and I as a Poe fan enjoyed the multiple nods to Poe's works.

Same here.

I'm sure there are even more Poe references that I didn't pick up on.

Just started Midnight Mass & will watch this show after we're done.

I've enjoyed most of his other shows/movies.

Watched this series in three days. Great references to his other tales, I was very impressed.

Weird.
Not mad I watched it but could have watched things more enjoyable with my time.
