I don't hate Tom Cruise and he's not my favorite. But, his character in this movie is the best he's ever played IMHO.

My neighbor was telling me about it this last weekend. So, I gave it a watch. I have been laughing ever since!

Yeah, it's right up there with Blazing Saddles for non-PC comedy.

It probably could never be made these days. Luckily they squeaked it in just before the wokeness fully took over Hollywood.

And I agree, it's my favorite Tom Cruise role.

In fact, I normally can't stand Ben Stiller either, but he was okay in this film too.

Love this movie. This has several people who I dont usually like such as Jack Black and Ben Stiller, but everything about this movie worked. Very quotable, and RDJ is fucking perfect in this movie.

Great film. Agree with the comments on Cruise and RDJ. Perfect for those roles.

It's worth it just for the fake trailers alone.

It's about time for a rewatch.

Cruise had two requests for his role, "I get to have fat hands, and I get to dance."

There's more than one DVD commentary edition, but on one of them, RDJ does his commentary as Kirk Lazarus.

As I recall he was wholly unapologetic about it when "they" came after him back in 2020.

Good for him. Fuck "them"

When the film came out, I read an article that claimed that Cruise based his portrayal of Les Grossman on Harvey Weinstein, who at the time had a notorious reputation as an asshole; he had an explosive temper, and used the word "fuck" numerous times in everyday conversation. There is a slight physical resemblance, and like Les Grossman, Weinstein was renown for his addiction to Diet Cokes.

Haven't watched the movie in years, I'll have to dig out the DVD and see it again.

My wife and I saw it at the Camp Lejune base Theater. The roaring laughter (myself and spouse included) is not too be forgotten. It reminded me of seeing “Army of darkness” at the 29 Palms Base Theater.
