No sax, but "Use Me" by Patricia Barber has some great bass. If you have a revealing enough system, you can hear the strings vibrating on the frets.

It's on her "Companion" recording, which also has a blazing rendition of "Black Magic Woman".

I highly recommend the entire Cafe Blue record! She and her band are tight!

Want pure jazz? Or fusion? Or somewhere between?

Find anything Johnny Vidacovich plays drums on.

So good. So humble. He’s a bad ass in the jazz world

He and I had a long conversation about coffee grinders and differences one evening.

I used to listen to Patricia barber; I’m starting to like her stuff again. I had some Carter stuff but the Carter / Person stuff is new to me. Really like it.

Bob Berg was spectacular (he has passed) and played with many other greats.
Chroma Music on the Edge is one of my all time favorite albums.
