Set out once to become the world's greatest procrastinator, but never got around to it |
Was thinking the other day of some of the funniest movies and TV skits and thought this would be an interesting topic. Not stand up comics - just actors even in short skits. Just as a start, I'll offer the following: Lucille Ball Dick Van Dyke Carroll O'Connor Mary Tyler Moore Red Skelton Carole Burnett Vicki Lawrence Tim Conway Harvey Corman John Belushi Chevy Chase Gilda Radner Jayne Curtain ___________________________________________ The annual soothsayers and fortunetellers conference has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.

I’ve long thought that John Candy was actually a very good actor. I love his films, and he could really crack me up. I suspect that had he lived he would have been given a lot more dramatic roles, similar to Robin Williams’ career. Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. - 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Zach Galifianakis in his own way is funny. All time: Richard Pryor early Eddie Murphy Jerry Seinfeld Chris Rock Robin Williams...usually the first 30-min of an act Rodney Dangerfield

I like most of those already mentioned but I'd add: Chaplin Harold Lloyd Leslie Neilsen. Peter Sellers I never cared for Robin Williams. It was all a bit too frenetic for me. Clever man tho.

Modern generation comedic actors seems to run either you love them or hate them. Will Ferrell comes to mind. Along with Jim Carrey.

I would add Jonathan Winters and Bob Newhart, both favorites of mine. I think Ed Helms and Simon Pegg are funny. And sometimes Sandra Bullock can be funny.

Robin Williams Jonathon Winters Neither used the script, just the idea of where the story/ scene was supposed to go. Life moves pretty fast. “Actors” must mean something different than I thought it meant. _______________________________________________________ despite them

How about going Old School? Cary Grant (Bringing Up Baby & Arsenic And Old Lace) and Bob Hope (Paleface and his "Road" movies)?

If we are going old school, let's include Buster Keaton...the guy was hilarious.

A man's got to know his limitations |
Lots of greats in this thread but Jonathon Winters was the first to my mind. "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock "If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it." Clarence Worley

Currently I'd give it to Timothy Olyphant after watching Santa Clarita Diet.
