Ten years or more ago, a bad network disk write took out my hard drive with almost all my data.
I did a data recovery job and ended with thousands of gibberish named files. Been sorting them out ever since.

Last night i stumbled on a few songs that belong to an album where two pianists, a man and a woman, talk and discuss the songs they’re playing next.
The album is excellent but can’t remember its name or the players. The piano player is most likely black, the woman i can’t tell. Not familiar with women that play piano.

Some of the songs i recover i do remember their names or musicians, some others are identified by VLC. In this case, i get nothing.

I’m a poorly educated Jazz fan.
Only exposed to albums but no visual memories from where to get voices and looks.

Piano players too many to count and i particularly like duets with other instruments, sax being my favorite.

Got no place to start. The female pianist is my most important clue for i really don’t know who she might be. Not likely to be Norah Jones or Krall…. but i could be wrong.
Very likely i am very familiar with the male piano player and that’s how i got to this particular album.

Siri can do it too if you have a iPhone.

I was thinking it was probably Oscar but I didn't know that particular record. Oscar is one of the greatest musicians of all time regardless of genre or instrument.

I have the album. But i also had these unidentified files from a very old data recovery job. Wanted to match these files with a name to make sure i have the album properly stored in my drive. I do.

I started listening to Jazz thanks to Oscar Peterson when i was young. I rented 10 albums of his and hoped for the best. I is good and easy to listen to. After this introduction i was able to start my own exploration.

Glad you found it, and I was going to suggest it might be Marian McPartland. She had a radio show called Piano Jazz on NPR for twenty or more years and had wonderful conversations and playing sessions with many jazz musicians over the years. She conducted the show at the piano bench. She was a treasure - so knowledgeable and charming. And she could play.

Any other recordings of her show would be worth looking for.
