Many people do not know who Terry Reid is, but he was a British rock singer/songwriter who came out of the same scene as The Stones, Cream, etc. He is perhaps best known in rock circles for being Jimmy Page's first choice to be vocalist for his new band, Led Zeppelin, which Reid turned down (he also turned down the vocalist spot in Deep Purple). But he did Page a huge favor by recommending two guys for his new band- Robert Plant and John Bonham. I discovered Reid in the early 80s after realizing his song "Speak Now or Forever Hold You Peace" covered by Cheap Trick on their debut album, was actually written by Reid. I eventually found a very worn used copy of his album, out of print for years, and became a fan ever since. But if you never heard Reid, you can imagine what Led Zeppelin would be like if he did accept Page's offer. IMO, one of he best British rock singers ever. https://variety.com/2025/music...lin-dead-1236478937/ "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

I’ve got this album and the one oddball posted a couple of songs from. If he HAD joined Led Zeppelin, I think they would have been just as successful as they were with Robert Plant. He has an incredible voice. This is probably my favorite from him. This is my favorite from the Superlungs album. _______________________________________________________ despite them

Yeah, years ago, it used to puzzle me why certain musical artists that I admire and love, guys like Andy Partridge, Paul Westerberg, and especially Alex Chilton, would be loved and respected by many musicians, but largely ignored by the masses; these guys are up there with the best of them. And certainly Reid falls into this category.
