I kneel for my God, and I stand for my flag |
A German TV series about five friends and their paths through World War II. I started watching it last night and thought it was excellent.

Fighting the good fight |
Yep, it's good. It had been available on Netflix for a while now (5+ years), but I guess the streaming rights just recently flipped to Amazon. (We had a thread on it a while back when it first came out on Netflix, but I guess it was pruned due to age, since it predated to "no more thread pruning" policy of the past couple years.) Netflix also has a number of other excellent German language shows available, such as Dark, Babylon Berlin, and Barbarians. And if this style of foreign language war movies are up your alley, Amazon has a number of foreign WW2 films available for free or for rent. Many of the Russian ones are pretty cheesy and overly patriotic, but I can recommend the Russian movie Fortress of War, which you can watch for free with ads through IMDBtv Prime Video. I also very highly recommend the Finnish film Unknown Soldier, which you can rent through Prime Video for a couple bucks. And the Korean film My Way is a pretty cool true story about Korean conscripts in the Imperial Japanese Army who were captured by the Russians during border skirmishes and conscripted into the Red Army, then captured by the Germans on the Eastern Front and conscripted into the Wehrmacht, before facing the Allies in Normandy, and it's available for free through Prime Video.
