I’m surprised the last thread was on season 6. I just finished binged watching the last 3 seasons from where I left off last. If you were ever mildly interested in this series, don’t cheat yourself out of an epic ending. I won’t give any spoilers but the last season is tightly written. The last 6 episodes is a rising crescendo culminating in an epic final battle. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I had to throw in the towel on this series a few seasons back. After Axel left the series it turned into a over the top WOKE POS.

Axel only left the series for one season and it was due to Damian Lewis' wife passing away, as well as scheduling conflicts due to the pandemic. While I agree that the season he was gone was kind of messy, it wasn't all woke and actually turned out to be pretty good. Season 7 was slow to start but I was very glad in the final couple of episodes, which tied up a bunch of storylines from throughout the series. "I'm yet another resource-consuming kid in an overpopulated planet raised to an alarming extent by Hollywood and Madison Avenue, poised with my cynical and alienated peers to take over the world when you're old and weak!" - Calvin, "Calvin & Hobbes"

I think I started to sleep through when Axel left. The news I got was the actor didn't want to go past 5 years (which is sort of strange for me from an earnings pov). There wasn't any bite to the "goody two-shoes" takeover. But the second half of the last season were nicely written in my opinion for a lot of drama and intrigue. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Back, and to the left |
The woke wasn't just seeping in. When it came, it was a flood of the bullshit. My wife and I were avid watchers. When it happened, we held on like 2 episodes. When it was obvious that it was a permanent change, we quickly agreed to permanently bail.
