I used to put together Gundam models then I found this Chinese LEGO rip-off called Panlos. They had an IDF M-60 Magach set that was a load of fun to build. Something like 1,300 pieces. Just for giggles, I went looking the other week and found all sorts of armored vehicle models, some even motorized! Picked up a cheap one off Amazon of a Leopard 1. Pics coming shortly.

Anyone else build these things?

Last Christmas I got the COBI sets for KMS Bismarck and Prinz Eugen. Plus I picked up a few small sets for the Mandalorian. And then the James Bond Aston Martin that just came out (not the UCS, but the speed champions series).

Those models look pretty cool. I have several Tamiya WWII model tank kits to build but haven't had time to start any.

My son has autism so LEGO blocks have always been a great therapy for him, either individually in small segments or with him for cooperation and fun. The biggest kit he's built to date is one of the earlier Harry Potter Hogwarts castles (about 1,500 pieces?) but I found a Mega Blocks starship Enterprise NCC=1701 with about 3,100 pieces a couple of years ago. We tried it but he didn't like the instructions (not as good as LEGO) nor the way the pieces went together so he quit after a few pieces and my wife and I ended up finishing it. Link for the kit and picture on Amazon (it was a lot cheaper then):

I had tons of Legos back in my childhood. I still have a couple modern Lego sets that I built and displayed in my man cave/gym, which were gifts over the past couple years from a friend who's big into Legos. These include a Stormtrooper helmet and Boba Fett helmet, along with a TIE Fighter.

I like the technic sets, but they've honestly become stupidly overpriced for what they are. I remember seeing some of the knockoff sets on Amazon and thinking they were quite nice.
My last was a large industrial fork lift, something akin to a Taylor Big Red for those that know. Seemed fitting considering my job. I would really like a couple of the nicer automotive sets for dispaly, but that's not really in the budget at the moment.

Sweet looking tanks you have there.

Started digging into Legos with my nephew a few years ago. First we made a few airplanes and a ghost car for them to blow up.

While I was on vacation, I put together a small tank. Couldn't leave it alone and it became a longer tank (complete with flamethrower).

He had a fit and wanted to build his own tanks. Then he said mine didn't have any side armor and he could destroy it if hit there.

So side armor had to be fitted. There were a few parts left over, so I pushed enough Legos together to make a half-track.

We had a war, suddenly running out of airplanes! Big Grin I was able to put a howitzer together and hitch it to the half-track later.

Getting everything to work took a lot of trial and error (mostly error). I'll try to get a few pics up if anyone is interested.

That looks like fun. I assume that no glue (toluene) is used, that is a big plus. The next step is a diorama. After you master that skill, the Lego stop-motion skit.

Wow, that's a good one! I recently finished a sport car and now I want to order something else but I still don't know what.

Some laugh at my hobby but recently I stumbled upon a blog where it's written about how much used LEGO bricks are worth per pound, covering current pricing trends (typically $6-$15, sometimes more for rare pieces) and how many pieces make up a pound. You can Visit Mogobuy and find out more info.

We enjoy some Lego as a family. Gives us something else to bond over.

They are stupid expensive now a days, so we look for sales all the time, but like I said, gives us something else to do together, bond over, that doesn't involve a screen.

^^ That is pretty cool. I like the diorama idea, I just don't have anywhere currently to display mine.
I've been on a bit of a super car kick of late, so I've got a couple 911s to put together that I got for cheap on Amazon and I'm thinking of buying another I found with Martini racing livery. I've been trying to find an affordable Saturn V set as well.

The Saturn V is quite a space hog laid on its side.

I really want Concorde, but can't justify the cost right now.

Let’s face it, guys.

If you don’t like Legos, you suck overall as a person. That pretty much sums it up.

I have added to my collection since the original post. Mostly tanks, though I also have a Cobi USS Arizona, USS Missouri, and the Tirpitz. As far as actual Legos, I did that bonsai and the paradise plant for my wife, which came out pretty cool, and the Jazz Quartet and Apollo lander with lighting kits.

I think my bucket list kit is this Brick Vault USS Missouri

I've done a few of the Megabloks Halo kits from before Mattel bought them out. And before Disney effed up the Star Wars franchise, I built a couple of the vehicles and have the massive Death Star kit that I've yet to open and probably won't because its value has gone ballistic. I've also done a couple of Ferraris from LEGO as well, and have big Porsche and Ferrari kits still waiting to be assembled, but it's the same issue as with the Death Star; unopened the stupid things have jumped up in value.
