I have loved this series since I was a boy in the single digits. First saw the 1979 CBS release of the animated version of The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe sometime in the 80s.

My brother and I watched the VHS so much we actually wore out 2 copies. Own the DVD now and enjoy most of the theatrical versions.
This was likely the 1st box series of books I actually read all the way through.

I so very much hope I eat crow on this as there are a number of good Netflix productions that I highly enjoy including a very Christian themed movie. So there is hope but I am not highly optimistic.

Sorry, the link is ad infested and can’t easily copy and paste it from the phone.

Save your DVD copy.

Anything that you purchase from a service or download electronically can be altered w/o the author's permission.

I learned recently that the Agatha Christie e-books have been reworked to not offend people
Your E-book has been updated.
Having hard copies of VHS/DVD/Deadtree books is not a bad idea if you love them.

quote:
Ian Fleming
To mark 70 years since Casino Royale, Fleming’s first book featuring the British spy James Bond, was published, a full set of the thrillers will be reissued. This time, they will contain the disclaimer: “This book was written at a time when terms and attitudes which might be considered offensive by modern readers were commonplace.”

Many changes are to remove racist language. In Live and Let Die, Bond’s comment that would-be African criminals in the gold and diamond trades are “pretty law-abiding chaps I should have thought, except when they’ve drunk too much” has been changed to “pretty law-abiding chaps I should have thought”.

Others are to remove sexist language; for example a scene where Bond visits a nightclub in Harlem, and a reference to the “audience panting and grunting like pigs at the trough” has been changed to “Bond could sense the electric tension in the room”.

Some might consider this minor but it gives them license to do this to historic writings as well. I've been looking hard at hard copies of history books.

Sorry OP, if this is not the direction you intended this thread to go. I'll delete if you request.

Nope it is fine.
I still am very much a fan of hard copies. I still buy CDs, DVDs, BluRays, and 4K BluRays quite frequently.

I rip them all in full quality and keep them on my home media server.

They pretty much have a clean slate to do whatever not just edit or adjust what is already there.

For books, I prefer reading them on Kindle. But for controversial political books I will buy a paper edition as well.
I used to imagine getting rid of bookshelves; now I'm back to thinking I need to add more to the house.
I will continue to try to buy old versions of the classic Disney animated feature films on DVD or Blu-Ray so my grandchildren can enjoy them when they are older.
