New movie by Tom Hanks. Man builds robot to care for his dog in post apocalypse. Sounds horrible. My 19 year old son and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Good movie. Haven’t said that in awhile.

Trailer made me think WallE meets The Martian.
It's on our watchlist.

The movie is being billed as the block buster of the year. I thought is was just 'OK' at best. Not one I'd watch again.

I wouldn't call it a blockbuster but, you can kill 2-hours and not feel you got ripped-off.

Its well done movie with an interesting premise, Hanks has become synonymous with this genre of movie. Like Cast Away, Hanks is on-screen 100% of the time, trying to get to someplace, clinging to various emotional totems as he struggles and survives what life throws at him. Each movie he continues to assert himself as Jimmy Stewart 2.0, the likable, affable guy who's not demonstrative or, offensive but, comes across as genuine and unafraid to struggle with his flaws.

It was a snooze fest…

We felt a bit cheated since it was Tom Hanks…expected a bit more.
