I don't remember if I was fond of this show when it was running on the free network. Certainly, not as much as I liked The Unit as I would definitely remember. When it moved to Paramount Plus, it was no big loss.

But I had a discounted offer for Paramount Plus. I took it to watch the last season of Evil. Then I started binge watching SEAL TEAM. I became impressed with the overarching themes they wove through the series. Already in the first season, I didn't remember but they covered Breachers' Syndrome which resurfaces especially in Season 6. I thought Season 6 was the final season with the main character owning up to his condition in the last episode just after getting awarded a medal.

This Sunday is the final episode of the final season. I went past my discounted months by one or two months just to wrap up this series.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I enjoy the show. Especially the first couple of seasons. The tactics and gear is pretty spot on, and not the chincy fake actor gear you usually see on TV. I especially enjoy not only seeing the correct weapons, but they are usually outfitted with the appropriate optics, and when they show what the actor sees through the optic, it’s an EoTech reticle, or the correct reticle from a Vortex Razor. I understand why they killed Clay off, but to me the show lost a little steam after that.

I think Jason (or maybe Jason and Drew) will probably get killed in the final episode and it will cause Ray to stay in the Navy.

We’ll find out Sunday.

Agreed. Love the show. Hated when Clay died.

One of the reasons the show is so grounded in realism as far as tech and tactics is one of the primary advisors is a retired Delta Guy. Tyler Gray plays Trent on the show as well.

Waiting for this season to end to binge it.

I have enjoyed the series and will be sad when it ends.
The attention to technical details is what I enjoy most.

It was a decent final episode. There were a couple of head fakes towards a bad finale and it wasn’t really clear how things finally shook out until the end but it was a satisfying ending.

Agreed.

The whole Sonny/Davis thing was a bit of a bummer I thought.

The reason the finale felt a bit rushed is because the season was 90% written when they got word this was the series end. A bunch of story lines were supposed to continue into season 8 but they wanted to bring some closure to the main cast arcs.

The guy who played Heavy Metal was a former SEAL and writer also.

Can’t remember his name but the dude who either writes or produces the show I think is the k9 guy and was a delta force guy in real life before he started working in Hollywood. He was on one of the podcasts, I think Shawn Ryan a while back

My wife and I both liked the series when it was on network television; we never followed it over to Paramount Plus. I guess they killed off Clay so that he could move over to a starring role in that miserable show about wildland firefighters. Horrible show.

Tyler Grey (Trent) was the Delta guy. He was also the shows technical advisor.

The K9 guy, justin melnick ( Brock) is a leo and is a k9 officer.

Scott Carter (Full Metal) was also a SEAL.

One of my favorite episodes was in the first season. The team gets sent to South Sudan to reenforce the embassy. The acting ambassador is talking to his staff about diplomatic weakness. Jason and the ambassadors staff try to get him to evacuate, and the ambassador says something about “it not being time to take down the flag just yet”

One of his staffers doesn’t miss a beat and says “If you wait long enough, they (the protestors) will come take it down for you”.

Later, the ambassador sends the team out to retrieve two NGO workers. They refuse to be evacuated, and Sonny tells Jason “Boss, I have a bag full of zip ties, and two strong shoulders. If you want them to go, they go”

Show had great dialogue.

Last episode was solid, even more so with all everything they had to tie up.

Solid show start to finish. I’m gonna miss it.
