I was small when it was on originally and it scared the $@#% out of me. The one I remember most is when Kolchak had to pour salt in the mouth of a sleeping monster (zombie?) and sew it shut. | |||

The Night Stalker knocked-me-out, when I first saw-it on television. All the Dan Curtis Productions imparted a certain eerie, malevolence about them. Dark Shadows, The Norliss Tapes, Dracula, and Curse of the Black Widow to name a few. The Night Stalker was no exception. All the cast was perfectly selected with Barry Atwater cast as the vampire, along with veterans: Kent Smith, Carole Lynley, Claude Akins, Charles McGraw, and Simon Oakland as the hapless, editor. Darren McGavin as the 'b-story' reporter, plays-all-it-to-the-hilt. Who breaks the 'stone-walling' with the help of FBI-buddy Ralph Meeker, and his informant Elish Cook, Jr.. I lived in Las Vegas shortly after the filming of The Night Stalker pilot, and recognized all the landmarks, and shooting locales. The background music by Robert Colbert helped create the building suspense imparted from the screenplay. Great stuff! __________________________ "We're after men - and I wish to God I was with them.
