I hope he had a place in your life.

Never did see him live, used to crank his songs in the CD player of my 2003 FLHTC.

Old Graybeard friend of mine, bought a used Harley that was his. I called him this morning to tell him that David had passed and asked him to tell me the story again.

He said the Coe used to travel with 6 bikes, early 80's he stopped in Salina KS Harley and traded two off, both were the tan and cream 1979 and 1980 models, one had a side car, he bought the one without the side car, a few years later he ended up with the side car, still has the side car in the garage. I need to go look at it sometime. I am sure that it's sitting in a dirty old garage packed with stuff all around it. Probably in not so good shape. He was a truck driver and ran into Coe at a truck stop years later and told him that he had his old bike.
Thanks for the music Mr. Coe

First time I ever heard of DAC was when some bikers that lived down the road invited us over for drinks and smoke. Played the X rated albums for us. I'm going "Who the hell and what the fuck is this?" David Allen Coe don't you know shit? Eastern Colorado was a different world.

His other work was a bit better but who could ever forget the first time they heard Finger Fuckin' Sally.

Called by his name, we’ll never see the likes of him again, Godspeed, Brother.
