So I know there are Longmire fans and I decided to give it a go. I am enjoying it. That said I just watched an episodes where somebody decocks a SIG with the ACTUAL DECOCKER!!! I am so used to seeing SIGs, Beretta’s etc. etc. get the old thumb on hammer / trigger pull that it was downright jarring. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

The only time I can remember a SIG decocker used in a movie is Rooney Mara at the end of David Fincher's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. In the beginning of 2008's Street Kings, Keanu Reeves shoots up a Korean gangs' hideout with a Smith 4506. After the gunfight, he uses the safety to properly lower the hammer and then immediately flicks the safety back off, essentially using it as a decocker. I thought that was a cool little detail in the film.

It was completely in character, too, given her gift for knowing all things mechanical or technological. In Casino Royale, when Bond retrieves his P-99 from the car, he uses the decocker after racking the slide. Of course, he couldn't very well thumb-lower the hammer on a striker fired gun, but I was still surprised that he decocked. __________________________ "Sooner or later, wherever people go, there's the law.
