I knew this was coming, but I missed its release. Not many outstanding guitar players missing from this effort. Thanks

That is really something. Thanks so much for posting this.

Did I miss the bit on Stevie Ray Vaughan? I would have expected Mark to put him at #1 on the list.

I've stopped counting.

No Glen Campbell? No Eddie?

And Joan Jett? Really? She was good at power chords, but not even close to some of the greats listed.

One of us doesn’t understand. I thought SRV in the post above yours was a joke. I believe that the people who contributed to this charity remake are all alive, or more correct were alive at the time they contributed to the recording (i.e. Jeff Beck). They aren’t listing all the great guitar players in history, they’re listing those who took part in the effort to raise money for cancer.

My understanding was also that the names were on screen whenever their audio contribution was active in the song. So when whatever Joe Satriani's track was active in the mixer, his name was on screen.

Does that help?

What a cool charity project.

Correct, the player's name is visible while their contribution is audible. Most are unmistakable and I was able to identify prolly 75% by their tone and style.
