Those times and these movies were my youth and yeah, they surely marked my life. The nihilistic and all-important Boomers have had a large part in where our world is today.

Been a while since I read the book, but thought it well written and a relatively accurate portrayal of how things might have developed post nuclear war. Part of my perspective comes from time in the US Navy as a Gunners Mate in the 1970’s.
Nevil Schute was a good writer. I recommend his other books if you can find them. “Trustee from the toolroom” is one I especially enjoyed.

The original movie version with Gregory Peck was much better than the updated with Asante.
